Code of Ethics & Environmental Stance

Rental Results is always looking for ways to improve and we welcome suggestions, so let us know what would make you a happier client or tenant.  If we think your suggestion will fit into our business philosophy and practice we will incorporate it.  If you spot a mistake, let us know - we want to fix it.

The Rental Results Property Management code of ethics:

We act with professionalism, honesty and integrity at all times.

  1. We do not engage in deceptive practices.
  2. We avoid or disclose any conflicts of interest to clients.
  3. We provide independent and objective advice to clients and will not be influenced or affected by external influences.
  4. We respect the confidentiality of clients and adhere to all privacy requirements relating to the receipt of information.
  5. We ensure that all clients have a realistic expectation of services provided prior to accepting contracts.

For your peace of mind, we will do our utmost to ensure staff and/or contractors adhere to the code of ethics of both Rental Results and the Independent Property Managers Association.

Environmental Stance:

We believe any property improvements should be made from a long-term, sustainability viewpoint.  We are in favour of better energy efficiency in homes, better water management, safer materials in construction and better design for long-lasting looks and function.  This is a passion of ours, so if you want some hints and tips for 'do's and don'ts' in renovations, just ask.

Why not come in and see our green offices as proof that we ‘walk the talk’?  Here are some of the things we implemented during the renovation of our larger office suite which accommodates our growing team:

  • Low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paint which is better for the health of the painters and those who work in and visit it.  This was sourced from a company with good environmental practices.
  • Our furniture is recycled or has been mindfully purchased for life-cycle, transport costs, and toxic materials.
  • Our carpet was installed to maximise its life expectancy with constant wear from office chairs.
  • Low energy and low mercury lighting installed.
  • Overall, the renovation and running cost was very light on resources.

Within Rental Results, we implement a number of energy efficiency and environmentally aware strategies, from our lighting to computing, the paints and cleaners we use, to the way we plan our travel.  Here are just some of them:

  • Our vehicle fleet is fuel efficient and kept well-tuned to minimise emissions.
  • Cleaning products used are low impact on the ecosystem.
  • Our business cards are printed on environmentally friendly card. The current stock has a high percentage of recycled paper fibre.
  • Trips are planned in order to be fuel efficient as practical.
  • We instigated a recycling system in the office building we occupy.
  • We use low energy computers and turn them off when not in use, and energy efficient lighting.
  • To lower paper demand and reduce rubbish in streets we install 'no junk mail' signs on properties we manage.
  • Our invoices are electronic to minimise printing and postage - both costly to the environment.

We continue to improve our responsibilities to the environment, so this list is by no means complete.

We publish articles on sustainable property in our monthly e-newsletter so subscribe to find out ways you can make your property portfolio more environmentally friendly.  Alternatively, you can attend our seminars to find out more ways you can make improvements at reasonable costs to save you money and energy in the future.

Our Philosophy

We are honest and act with integrity.  We think it is necessary to love what one does, leave things better than they were found and take time to enjoy the world while we walk it.   We bring quality to others in our dealings and treat people with respect.
We think it is essential to have fun, so humour is always welcome at Rental Results.

Awards & Associations

We are a member of the Independent Property Managers' Association (IPMA), which is comprised of a group of non-REINZ affiliated Property Managers.
